Well it was a good battle right from the beginning of the game. Our team scored the first try and Colin, our kicker, made the conversion kick, so we were up 7-0. At the end of the first half, the score was 26-19 for Tokyo. The second half was so stressful because the score kept going up for each team but we were usually behind. We finally got ahead near the end of the game and the score was 38-33. We thought that we could hold them but they kept pushing and with less than a minute left, they got another try! Luckily, they did not make their kick so the game was tied 38-38! We did not know what would happen with a tie because one team had to be a winner to go to the next level of the tournament. Soon we found out that EMS won because they had scored the first try of the game!!!! Yahoo boys!
Your challenge...tell me all the ways that EMS could get points to add up to 38...they did not get any 3 point kicks today. All their points came from tries (5 points) or conversion kicks (2 points)...

Some of the guys after the game...Nick is on the right!
My new friend from Tokyo. She is the mom of the #10 from the Tokyo team. We met each other at the end of the game when we were looking at the scoreboard.

Just after we arrived in Japan, Don started getting a sore tooth. It was one that the dentist had already fixed before but some infection got under the filling, called a crown. So yesterday, he finally had had enough pain and decided to find a dentist. The dentist did some scraping and a bit of drilling to try to get some of the infection out. He also gave Don some anti-biotics to help get rid of the infection. Today he had to go back and the dentist was going to do some surgery called a root canal. When he got to the dentist today, the dentist said that it was looking much better and he could wait until he got home to have the root canal. He was very relieved that he did not have to have surgery while on holidays...he was worried that he would not be able to eat more good Japanese food if he had a sore mouth!
Don and his Japanese dentist, Dr. Murata!
